2005 Australian Blacksmiths' Conference

The following are videos of Gwynfor hard at work, as part of Days of Knights Pty Ltd, at the first Australian Blacksmiths' Conference to be held in Victoria. I'm the one in the blue and yellow, Jason is in green and white, and Lillian is operating the camera and being the safety marshal while explaining the nuances to the crowd. The swords are accurate replicas of a late 12th, or early 13th century knight's blade, the only difference being that the blades are rebated (have a blunt 2mm edge rather than being sharp). My armor as I am wearing it with accoutrements, weighs 28kg. By way of reference, I am 65kg in street clothes.

If it doesn't fit, force it - if it breaks it needed replacement any way. There may be more than one way to skin a cat, but the bonus is that, no matter what method you use, you end up with a skinned cat. Life is like an analogy.
