Quernifactionary goodness alert!

I've put together a couple of videos looking at the quern project. What is a quern? It's a tool for grinding grain into flour. Basically it has two elements, the base stone, called the quern stone, which is static, and the head or handstone, which moves. The head stone's movement against the quern stone grind the grain into a meal, or flour. The whole project was undertaken as part of the business run by Lord Everard Sefar, Mistress nicolette Dufay and myself (Days of Knights), but the project has seen a couple of SCA outings, notably at a Shire of Krae Glas meeting and the October meeting of the Suth Gild Heall's Cooks and Brewers Guild, where we went all the way from whole grain to bread in an afternoon.

If it doesn't fit, force it - if it breaks it needed replacement any way. There may be more than one way to skin a cat, but the bonus is that, no matter what method you use, you end up with a skinned cat. Life is like an analogy.
